The paper presents the results of the research of local population of Anacamptis morio (L.) R. M. Bateman on the territory of the Left-Bank Ukraine. The size of this population was estimated at about 250-300 thousand individuals. The average density of individuals per 1 m2 is 12, while in terms of age structure, dominate individuals in the generative stage (70-75%). A. morio inhabits fresh, forest-meadow biotopes. Its populations are found in fresh eutrophic and moist mesotrophic meadows and in coastal floodplain forests. This species is a part of vegetation of the Koelerio-Corynephoretea and Molinio-Arrhenatheretea classes. Considering the characteristics of the investigated A. morio population and its habitat we assert that the studied territory is unique, valuable and perspective for the creation of a nature reserve.
A new locality for Crataegus ucrainica in the ravine-valley system of the River Svydnya valley (Desna basin) near the town of Krolevecz (Sumy region) has been reported. This article presents the results of a study of C. ucrainica within the species’ distribution. Based on a survey of the identified population, its ecological and coenotic features, and the ontogenetic state of the population are presented. The species is confined to areas with steep slopes, which are inaccessible for grazing, where clay deposits are exposed. The complexity of these ecotopes provides a good preservation of individuals in open meadows, forest edges, as well as in thickets of Robinia pseudoacacia and Populus alba. The coenotic affiliation of some individuals and thickets of this species to meadow-steppe, natural forest and spontaneous tree-shrub vegetation is noted. The state of the studied population in the Desna river basin is stable and sufficient for its preservation, its existence is due to the optimal hydrological regime of the slopes, which is associated with the presence of accumulated water at the bottom of valley s and a low groundwater level. The map shows the peculiarities of the distribution of the identified populations of C. ucrainica in Ukraine. A comparison of biotopes, ecotopes, soils, and vegetation types, in which populations of C. ucrainica in the area of their distribution are presented. Analysis of the seed products of this species according to analysis from different habitats allows us to assert the existence of favourable conditions for its distribution in the presence of optimal habitats.
Firstly the growing of Crateus Ucrainica A. Pojark was confirmed in the floodplain of Dnipro river. The location of two specimens of Crataegus ucrainica was detected on the Shelestiv island within Kaniv natural reverse (Cherkasy region). Some ecological and cenotic features of habitats distribution of the species are displayed. Detected growing place of hawthorn is connected in some ways with previous finding of this type in the river Ross delta [1] due to close location of the Shelestiv island in the Dnipro floodplain to this territory. There is a need to emphasize on the protection of the new localities of this rare species which is recorded in the "IUCN Red list of Treatment Plants".
This study is about the new Crataegus klokovii Ivaschin locations on the territory of Right-Bank Ukraine. Depending on the species concept, the genus Crataegus L. includes about 150–1200 species and it is one of the most systematically complicated plants group of the family Rosaceae. Species often crossed, forming viable but difficult to identify hybrids. The taxonomy of this genus is periodically critical. Its current distribution is analyzed based on literary data and herbarium collections. As a result it can be argued that species is heterogeneous and sporadic distributed on the middle Dnieper mainly on the valleys territory of its left bank tributaries. According to the literary data, herbarium collections and original researches it is possible to state attraction of this species to high cliffs, slopes, and also the indigenous banks of rivers. The new locations data of this species on Right–Bank Ukraine are given. The first Crataegus klokovii finding dated to Right–Bank Ukraine was discovered within the right steep bank of the Dnieper River between the villages of Stajki and Grebeni Kagarlyk district, Kyiv region in the suburb area “Dniprovski Kruchi”. We have identified five separate localities at this point. The next habitat was found at a previously explored locality. Territorially, it is located in the northern outskirts of Rzhyshchiv town. Based on the discovery of identified population the authors argue for the optimality and long duration of this species existence in the area. The population is viable and able to recover due to the high number of fruits. The optimum existence of this species corresponds to certain stages of succession, in particular from the stage of the terrophy groups to the shrub stage. The optimum of the species population is meadow and outskirts growth.
