Introduction. Increasing the load on highways and constantly increasing the intensity of traffic requires the use of road construction materials with improved physical and mechanical properties. Asphalt concrete is one of the most common and effective materials, which allows to provide the necessary strength and durability of the pavement structure. However, the use of traditional materials for its preparation - mineral material and road bitumen has a limited resource, which does not always meet traffic conditions. Modern scientific research in materials science allows to use mixtures of asphalt concrete and asphalt concrete road with the use of basalt fiber.Apply mixtures of asphalt concrete and asphalt concrete road with the use of basalt fiber, allows to increase the mechanical characteristics - tensile strength and resistance to fatigue from repeated loads, which increases the crack resistance of asphalt concrete layers of pavement structures, as well as increases resistance to shape change. accumulation of residual deformations.Problem Statement. From the literature analysis it is established that the coating of non-rigid pavement is in difficult operating conditions, which is confirmed by the intensive growth of defects in the form of tracks, landslides, inflows, cracks, due to increasing parameters of transport loads and high summer temperatures, so there is a need new materials.Purpose. Is to study the impact of the effectiveness of asphalt concrete reinforced with basalt fiber.Results. The results of physical and mechanical properties of asphalt concretes with the use of basalt fiber are obtained. The results of formation of residual deformations in the form of track in asphalt concrete with the use of basalt fiber are obtained. As a result of the conducted researches the analysis of efficiency of application of basalt fiber in asphalt concrete mix is executed. On the basis of the carried-out researches the basic requirements to asphalt concrete mix with use of basalt fiber are establishedConclusions. The research results were used in the development of regulations for the design, construction and repair of asphalt layers of roads in Ukraine. Keywords: asphalt concrete road with basalt fiber, asphalt concrete mixes with basalt fiber, loading, covering, stability, temperature.
Objective. To discuss the clinical study of the development of cordarone-associated thyrotoxicosis. Results and discussion. The female patient D., born in 1956, had been under observation since 2007 on ciliary arythmia and artery hypertension. Sinus rhythm (SR) was restored and maintained by the application of cordarone. In March 2010 due to recrudescence the patient was hospitalized into the Department of Immunopathology and Allergology, Republican Research Center for Radiation Medicine and Human Ecology. After the clinical examination she was diagnosed with «cordarone-induced» thyrotoxicosis, probably, of type 2. It was recommended to stop using cordarone. Thyrotoxicosis was managed with methylprednisolone, and antiarythmic therapy was conducted with sotalex, propranolol, propafenone, strofantine (with no effect), also electropulse therapy was provided (rhythm was restored). To administer supporting antiarythmic therapy, it was recommended to take alapenin and bisoprolol. In the sequel, the patient revealed euthyroidism, the level of thyroidal hormones was at a norm. However, later there were frequent paroxysms of atrium fibrillation, short-term paroxysm of ventricular tachycardia. The patient was sent to have a consultation at the Laboratory for Heart Rhythm Disturbances of the Republican Research Center «Cardiology». Conclusion. Thus, the above-mentioned clinical observation makes it possible to draw a conclusion that long-term intake of cordarone can change metabolism of thyroidal hormones and, possibly, the electrophysiological properties of heart.
Introduction. Bezoar is a cluster of foreign, inedible or difficult to digest objects in the digestive tract (especially in the stomach). Depending on the composition, there are: phytobezoars, trichobezoars, pharmacobezoars, lactobezoars. Patients may not have any symptoms for years, and their appearance is associated with an bezoar size enlargment, then there is abdominal pain, bloating, nausea and vomiting, a feeling of rapid satiety, anorexia and weight loss. The small bowel obstruction is the often cause of acute surgical pathology in the case of bezoar. It is important to pay attention to the peculiarities of the patient’s behavior, halitosis, spotted alopecia. The purpose of this publication was to raise the awareness of pediatricians and general practitioners in the diagnosis and management of patients with bezoars. The article presents a review of the literature and the clinical case of trichobezoar (Rapunzel syndrome) in a 14-year-old girl. Conclusions. Bezoar, regardless of its nature, disrupts the function of the gastrointestinal tract and can cause acute surgical complications patients of all ages. General practitionersn and pediatricians, taking into account the risk factors and clinical symptoms, may suspect bezoar formation in the early stages. In pediatric practice at the stage of primary diagnostic search, ultrasound can be recommended as a less invasive, but quite informative method. The “golden standard” for verification and treatment of uncomplicated forms of bezoar is the endoscopic method, regardless of age. Phytobezoars are less common in our region, but the processes of globalization, migration and increase in the diet of exotic fruits and vegetables may actualize this pathology. Adolescents, mostly girls who have long-term dyspeptic symptoms, alopecia, weight loss, especially if it occurs against the background of difficult social circumstances or pre-existing psychiatric disorders, are at risk of developing trichobezoar, so they need careful examination and consultation with a psychiatrist.

Comparative study of the effect of chemotherapeutic drugs (doxorubicin, methotrexate and cisplatin) and TGF-b on the human breast carcinoma MCF-7 cells, sensitive (wt) and resistant (DOX/R) to the doxorubicin action. Methods. Semi-quantitative reverse transcriptase-polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR) was used for the estimation of expression of mRNAs coding for the TGF-b isoforms (TGF-b 1 and TGF-b 2) and the TGF-b type I and II receptors (TbRI and TbRII). Trypan blue exclusion method was used for measuring cell number and cell viability. Results. The MCF-7(DOX/R) cells were more refractory to the TGFb 1-dependent growth inhibition than the MCF-7(wt) cells. The level of mRNAs coding for TGF-b and its receptors was higher in the untreated MCF-7 (DOX/R) cells comparing to the MCF-7(wt) cells. The expression of mRNA coding for TbRII was decreased in both cell lines treated with doxorubicin, methotrexate and cisplatin, while the down-regulation of mRNA coding for TbRI was revealed only in the MCF-7(DOX/R) cells upon the treatment with doxorubicin and methotrexate. Conclusions. The differential effects of studied anticancer drugs and TGF-b on the doxorubicin-sensitive and-resistant cells have been demonstrated. The elucidation of the molecular mechanisms of escape of the MCF-7 (DOX/R) cells from the growth inhibition by TGF-b requires further investigation.
