The architectural field has always represented an area where the potential of the materials that simulate the spirit of its time based on the architect designer’s understanding of these materials, their precise properties and their characteristics that influenced the making of creative architectural modules, the latest one known as GRC The research problem specified as “The Lack of clear conception about what the GRC material is and its effect on the designing action both in its intellectual and applicable aspects in the development of the contemporary architecture”. The goal of the research is to define the aspects of the GRC and to bring into view their indicators and level of influence on contemporary architecture. The research defined its method of work by examining the concept of G.R.C and its practical applications in the global practice to build the theoretical frame then tests it on selected Iraqi samples. The research concludes that the local experiment proved the architect understands of the GRC conception and its applicable methods on developing contemporary designing methods aimed at renovation and to stay clear of stereotypical and traditional pattern especially those related to designing the facades but the influence was directed at most towards implementing the aesthetic considerations at the expense of functional and performance considerations..
Technology is an essential aspect in all fields, and its presence is an active presence that represents the vision of architecture and enhances its orientation. In addition to providing practical solutions that increase the value of architectural facilities and enhance their efficiency, and due to the profound impact of technology, there is a need to test their products, especially in the field of housing, where technology is a twoedged dimension that enhances the positive aspects and can pose a number of problems. In this context, a number of construction technologies are being offered as a solution to architecture, especially in the area of housing. These techniques include pre-fabrication using cold-rolled steel plates, which present themselves as an appropriate, efficient, economical and quick solution to solve the housing problem. The objective of the study is to: Examine the aspects of this technique and measure its advantages by measuring its efficiency in the specific aspects of housing. According to the objective of the study, it took four procedural steps. The first was a statement of the cognitive aspects and frameworks for the construction of the buildings and their specific objectives, and technical aspects and dimensions (pre-fabrication using light-alloy iron). The second step is to develop a theoretical framework for the performance aspects and features adopted for building techniques, which is a base through which the selected technology features can be measured as a study objective. And then move (under third procedural step) -to measure the specific aspects of the theoretical framework and apply it to a number of projects approved for this technique, under a technical and field study. تمثل التكنولوجيا جانباً اساسياً في كافة المجالات وبخاصة العمارة التي تشكل رؤيتها وتعزز توجهها ، حيث توفر التكنولوجيا حلولاً عملية ترفع قيمة المنشئات المعمارية وتعزز كفاءتها. وانطلاقاً من التأثير العميق للتكنولوجيا - تبرز الحاجة الى اختبار نتاجها وبخاصة في مجال السكن الذي تكون فيه التكنولوجيا بعدا ذا حدين يعزز احدهما الجوانب الإيجابية فيما يطرح الآخر جملة من الإشكاليات . وفي إطار ذلك تطرح عدد من تكنولوجيا الإنشاء نفسها كحل للعمارة وبخاصة في مجال السكن. ومن هذه التقنيات (تقنية التصنيع المسبق باستخدام الواح الصلب المغلون المشكل على البارد) ، التي تطرح نفسها كحل مناسب وكفوء واقتصادي وسريع لحل مشكلة السكن . وبموجب ذلك تحدد هدف الدراسة بـ : تقصي جوانب هذه التقنية وقياس كفاءتها بمجوب ميزاتها في الجوانب المحددة للسكن . وبموجب ما حددته الدراسة من هدف ، عمدت الى اربعة خطوات إجرائية ، تمثلت الأولى ببيان الجوانب والأطر المعرفية لعملية تشييد الابنية والاهداف المحددة لها ، وجوانب وابعاد تقنية (التصنيع المسبق باستخدام بليت الحديد المغلون الخفيف) . فيما تتمثل الخطوة الثانية ببلورة اطار نظري للجوانب الأدائية والميزات المعتمدة لتقنيات البناء ، والتي تمثل قاعدة يمكن من خلالها قياس ميزات التقنية المختارة كهدف للدراسة . والانتقال بعد ذلك - (بموجب الخطوة الإجرائية الثالثة) - الى قياس الجوانب المحددة في الإطار النظري وتطبيقه على عدد من المشاريع المعتمدة لهذه التقنية ، بموجب دراسة فنية وميدانية.
