The transition of economy to a market relations and the subsequent transformation intended to increase the competitiveness of agricultural production and more fully utilize its potential. However, the imbalance of organizational and economic reform mechanisms due to the growing problems of production and financial condition resource supporting of considerable part of farms, reducing their ability to pay, the breaking-off of economic relations, ineffective government programs of supporting industries, including sheep breeding. As a result, in the industry with the start of transformational changes was outlined a trend towards reduction of livestock, rising production costs and so on. Most sheep breeding companies turned out in a crisis, which showed itself primarily in the unprofitableness and the low competitiveness of products. Shynkarenko [15] and others are dedicated to development of sheep industry and increase of its competitiveness. However, researches should be done on the elimination of the main causes of destabilization of the industry and there is an objective need to develop organizational and economic measures to improve its competitiveness. The purpose of the article is to assess the main trends in the functioning of the world market for sheep products to determine the strategic guidelines for the industry in Ukraine. Research methods. In the process of research, the dialectical method of cognition, a systematic approach to the study of economic phenomena and processes were used; abstract-logical method - for generalizations and formulation of conclusions; monographic - for detailing the conjunctural components of the world market for sheep products; empirical - for a comprehensive assessment of the current state of the research object; historical - for structuring in time the main trends in the development of the market under study; comparative analysis - to compare indicators and identify the dynamics of their changes over time; tabular - to reflect the results of research, graphic - to visually display the results of the price ranks of the main products of sheep breeding; statistical groupings - for the distribution of countries into groups according to different factors. Research results. The retrospective and the current state of the market of sheep products in the world have been investigated. The analysis of production volumes and livestock of sheep in the world in the context of the largest producers is carried out. It was revealed the strengthening of specialization in the meat and dairy direction in the world sheep breeding. The countries of the world have been ranked according to the level of purchase prices for 1 ton of sheep meat, 1 ton of wool and 1 ton of sheep milk. The dynamics of exports and imports of live sheep, sheep meat, wool and sheep cheese in the context of the main exporters and importers for the period 2012-2018 is considered. It has been established that, taking into account the global trends in the development of the sheep products market, in Ukraine it is advisable to increase the production of sheep meat in large-scale farms, which will satisfy the existing demand for these products in the world. Also, one of the promising areas for the development of the industry can be the production of elite sheep cheeses, starting with small craft production of regional brands. Scientific novelty. The analytical assessment of the world market situation for the main types of sheep products from the standpoint of Ukraine's integration into the international market for these products was further developed. Practical significance. The research results can be used by public administration bodies in determining the national policy of sheep industry development, the formation of a strategy for its development, taking into account export opportunities in the short and long term. Особливості формування попиту та пропозиції на ринку яловичиниМета статті -здійснити комплексний аналіз особливостей формування попиту та пропозиції на ринку яловичини України. Методика дослідження. У процесі дослідження використано методи: абстрактно-логічний -для формулювання висновків; монографічний -при деталізації функціонування ринку яловичини; порівняльного аналізу і рядів динаміки -для порівняння показників та виявлення тенденцій їх зміни у часі; статистичний -при проведенні аналізу попиту і пропозиції на ринку яловичини; графічний -для виявлення й ілюстрації тенденцій досліджуваних економічних явищ; економікоматематичні методи -при визначенні економічних показників, що впливають на попит та пропозицію яловичини. Результати дослідження. Проаналізовано сучасний стан ринку яловичини в Україні та визначено основні проблеми його розвитку з позиції як виробника, так і споживача. З'ясовано фактори, які найбільшою мірою впливають на формування попиту та пропозиції яловичини. Елементи наукової новизни. Набули подальшого розвитку аналітичні оцінки і визначення впливу основних факторів на формування попиту та пропозиції на ринку яловичини України.
The purpose of the article is to reveal the possibilities of the dairy subcomplex in the implementation of the UN Sustainable Development Goals. Research methods. Based on the dialectical method of cognition, general scientific research methods were used, namely: abstract-logical (for generalization and formulation of conclusions); monographic and system analysis (when studying the peculiarities of the development of the dairy subcomplex based on sustainability); comparative analysis (to compare global and national trends in achieving Sustainable Development Goals); graphic (for visual display of analysis results); as well as a systematic approach, analysis and synthesis, induction and deduction and others in the field of economic research. Research results. The modern world interpretation of the development of the dairy subcomplex with the use of the foundations of sustainable development is disclosed. Acting as a powerful tool for reducing poverty, overcoming hunger and ensuring human health, directing efforts to mitigate the negative impact on the environment, the dairy subcomplex provides consumers with dairy products in an economically beneficial, environmentally friendly and socially responsible for present and future generations. The role of the dairy subcomplex in the implementation of each of the 17 Sustainable Development Goals has been determined. Scientific novelty. Comparison of Sustainable Development Goals with the capabilities of the dairy subcomplex to guarantee food security, sustainable growth, and social development with the efficient use of natural resources has been further developed. Practical significance. The study results for implementation of sustainable development goals can be used by interested participants in the dairy subcomplex of Ukraine when developing strategic plans for their work both for the near and for a different perspective.
