A previous publication from this laboratory1 described the rapid reactions of Sarin (isopropyl methylphosphonofluoridate) or DFP (diisopropyl phosphorofluoridate) with several hydroxamic acids. This paper is a continuation of the study of the reaction of some phosphorus-containing enzyme
Compound II is a powerful inhibitor of eel acetylcholinesterase with a rate constant at pH 7.4 and 25°= 4.7-5.7 X lOW-1 min.-1. Its LD50 in white mice via the intravenous route of administration is 0.2 mg./kg.Detailed studies of the hydrolysis of this compound are in progress and will be reported later.
