Sexually transmitted diseases аre transmitted in the oral cavity through various forms of sexual activity. This article discusses the relevant clinical manifestations of several sexually transmitted viruses, including human papillomavirus, chlamydia trachomatis, and gonorrhea. Oral manifestations of these infections include ulcerative, inflammatory, or papillomatous lesions of the lips, tongue, mucous membranes, and throat, and may also present with oropharyngeal cancer.
