This chapter summarizes the distribution and function of the human cytochrome P450 enzymes, including their relative abundance and polymorphisms, general spectroscopic properties, and structures. The universal catalytic cycle of cytochrome P450 enzymes, including the requisite electron‐donor partners, is also described.
