Litopenaeus vannamei inland farming is carried out in several countries worldwide, under different salinity water conditions (FAO, 2020). However, despite the high capacity of the shrimp to adapt to different environmental conditions, several obstacles exist to shrimp farming in oligohaline water (0.5-3.0 g/L) such as the need to determine ideal ionic conditions of water, given the wide variability of ion composition and salinity among farming sites (Boyd & Thunjai, 2003).
