A B S T R A C TOne of the important objectives of this manuscript is to focus on the place of erectile dysfunction as an important factor for infertility. The review is about correlating the indiscriminate use of pesticides and to find out and highlight the evidences for mechanism of action of these pesticides for erectile dysfunction and find out the most used and most dangerous pesticide from erectile dysfunction point of view. The review suggests that erectile dysfunction is having a significant place as a causal factor for infertility. Study infers that pesticides are having multiple mechanisms of action through which these cause erectile dysfunction. It also reflects that acetamiprid is having most devastating effect causing erectile dysfunction as it acts through multiple inhibitory pathways. The review successfully highlights the indiscriminate regional use of pesticides.
A rapid and efficient analytical method suitable for the simultaneous determination of 1,3,5-trinitroperhydro-1,3,5-triazine (RDX) and 2,4,6-trinitrotoluene (TNT) in groundwater and human plasma samples using liquid chromatography with UV detection (LC-UV) has been developed. RDX and TNT were baseline separated within time span of 4.8 min on a reverse phase C 18 analytical column with water acetonitrile mixture in ratio 30:70 (v/v) as mobile phase. The UV detection was carried out at 234 nm. A sample preparation method for biological and environmental matrices using microextraction by packed sorbent (MEPS) technique has been implemented, employing 4 mg of C 18 silica sorbent inserted into a microvolume syringe and using only 30 lL of plasma and groundwater samples. Several factors affecting the performance of MEPS, such as number of extraction cycles, washing solvent volume, elution solvent volume and carryover etc., were optimized. Limits of detection were 0.0997 and 0.0628 ng mL -1 for RDX and TNT, respectively. The extraction yields were satisfactory for both analytes ([81.2 %) as well as the precision data, which were always in the low percentage of relative standard deviation values (\5.6 % , n = 6). The present method is miniaturized, fully automated, and robust which can be easily used for forensic studies of explosives in environmental and biological samples.
A new method for quantification of 12 nitroaromatic compounds including 2,4,6-trinitrotoluene, its metabolites and 2,4,6-trinitrophenyl-N-methylnitramine with microextraction by packed sorbent followed by gas chromatography and mass spectrometric detection in environmental and biological samples is developed. The microextraction device employs 4 mg of C silica sorbent inserted into a microvolume syringe for sample preparation. Several parameters capable of influencing the microextraction procedure, namely, number of extraction cycles, washing solvent, volume of washing solvent, elution solvent, volume of eluting solvent and pH of matrix, were optimized. The developed method produced satisfactory results with excellent values of coefficient of determination (R > 0.9804) within the established calibration range. The extraction yields were satisfactory for all analytes (> 89.32%) for aqueous samples and (> 87.45%) for fluidic biological samples. The limits of detection values lie in the range 14-828 pg/mL.
