Economic development of a country aims to increase social welfare by expanding employment opportunities and direct distribution of income evenly. Uneven economic development would be problematic one of them is unemployment. Unemployment is a complex problem that can lead to social phenomena in society as someone who did not work so it does not earn. It is therefore necessary to find a solution to overcome the problem of unemployment. This study aims to determine the effect of the minimum wage, the labor force and economic growth on unemployment in Central Java province in 2009-2014. The analytical method used in this research is panel data regression with fixed effect model approach (FEM). Based on the analysis, it is known that variable minimum wage a significant negative effect on the variable open unemployment in Central Java, a variable workforce positive and significant effect on the variable open unemployment in Central and variable economic growth does not significantly influence the variables of unemployment in Central Java. The main problem of this research was about the value of production in the handicraft industry in the village Tutul subdistrict Balung district Jember. This research was aimed to describe the factors that influence the value of production in the handicraft industry in the village Tutul subdistrict Balung district Jember. This research belongs to explanatory survey. This type of data are primary data, including data on the number of labor wages, capital, and production value. The method of this Research is ordinary least square (OLS). The result of this data shows that capital and amount and manpower have affected value of production, but wage haven’t affected value of production in the handicraft industry in the village tutul subdistrict Balung district jember. The research showed the implication that the use of capital by entrepreneurs handicraft is not maximized and need a support from the government, the capital should also get support from the local government to provide facilities to Kredit Usaha Rakyat (KUR). Handicraft industry in the village Tutul also still using traditional machines and therefore entrepreneurs need to boost employment and improve the quality of their performance. AbstrakKabupaten Jember merupakan daerah penghasil tembakau terbaik di dunia dan menyerap tenaga kerja wanita. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah menganalisis variabel pendapatan, umur, pendidikan dan jumlah tanggungan terhadap minat tenaga kerja wanita bekerja di PTPN X Unit Industri Bobbin. Metode analisis yang digunakan adalah Ordinary Least Squares (OLS) dan model yang digunakan Binary Logistic Regression dengan menggunakan data primer yang meliputi data keputusan tenaga kerja, pendapatan, umur, pendidikan dan jumlah tanggungan. Sampel yang diambil sebanyak 100 responden. Pengambilan sampel dihitung menggunakan rumus proportional stratified random sampling. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pendapatan, umur, pendidikan berpengaruh negatif dan signifikan, sedangkan jumlah tanggungan tidak berpengaruh terhadap minat tenaga kerja wanita bekerja di PTPN X Unit Industri Bobbin. Kata kunci:Minat tenaga kerja wanita, Pendapatan, Umur, Pendidikan, dan Jumlah Tanggungan. AbstractJember Regency is the best tobacco producing region in the world and absorbs female workers. The purpose of this study was to analyze the variables of income, age, education and the number of dependents on the interest of female workers working at PTPN X Industrial Unit Bobbin. The analytical method used is Ordinary Least Squares (OLS) and the model used by Binary Logistic Regression using primary data which includes data on labor decisions, income, age, education and number of dependents. Samples taken were 100 respondents. Sampling was calculated using the proportional stratified random sampling formula. The results showed that income, age, education had a negative and significant effect, while the number of dependents did not affect the interest of female workers working at PTPN X Bobbin Industrial Unit.
The business of pindang tuna fishing is classified as traditional industry which is labor intensive. This industry has characteristics cultivated by small entrepreneurs, simple production techniques, and management handled by the family. Based on the above fact, this study aims to find the amount of value added to pindang tuna fish business in Puger District of Jember City, Indonesia. Data collection method was done by census method to all pindang tuna fish entrepreneurs who are still actively doing the activity at the time of this research. At the time of this study there were 35 fishing entrepreneurs still operating. The required data include the sale value of pindang tuna fish, the price of fresh tuna fish, the cost of auxiliary materials for making pindang tuna fish, the amount of production, the amount of working capital and the number of production equipment used in the process of pindang tuna fish. The result of value added analysis that by processing the tuna fish into pindang tuna fish was more profitable than the direct sale of fresh tuna fish. The reason is to process the fish first into the pindang fish will create value added in the form of capital gains plus the wages of labor.
