A search for neutral Higgs bosons has been performed using the full sample of Z 0 decays collected by the OPAL detector at LEP up to 1995. The data were taken at centre-of-mass energies between 88 GeV and 95 GeV and correspond to an integrated luminosity of approximately 160 pb 1. The present search addresses the processes Z 0 !H 0 Z and h 0 Z , where H 0 is the Higgs boson predicted by the Standard Model and h 0 the lightest neutral scalar Higgs boson predicted in the framework of the Minimal Supersymmetric Standard Model. For the virtual Z 0 boson, Z , the following decay c hannels are considered: Z ! , e + e and +. One candidate event
We h a v e searched for lepton avour violating Z 0 !e, Z 0 ! e and Z 0 ! decays in a sample of 4:0 10 6 visible Z 0 decays collected with the OPAL detector at LEP during 1991 to 1994. No candidates are found for Z 0 !e. The samples of selected Z 0 !e and Z 0 ! candidates are consistent with the expected background. The following limits are set at 95% condence level:BR(Z 0 ! e) < 1:7 10 6
Evidence is presented for kinematic and charge correlations of B mesons with charged pions and kaons. Using a new technique, a sample of over 80 000 partially reconstructed B mesons is obtained in 3:5 10 6 hadronic Z 0 decays recorded using the OPAL detector at LEP. The invariant mass distributions of B + and B + K combinations show enhancements consistent with the decays of P-wave resonances of a b antiquark and a light quark. We observe an excess of 1 738 195 B + pairs with invariant masses in the range 5.60-5.85 GeV and an excess of 149 31 B + K pairs with invariant masses in the range 5.80-6.00 GeV. scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
