Two titrimetric methods using N-bromophthalimide (NBP) and N-brornosaccharin (NBSA) have been developed for the determination of some sulpha drugs such as Antrima, Elkosin, Las, Madribon, Orisul, Septran, sulphaguanidine, Urolucosil and two laboratory-made tablets of pure sulphaguanidine and pure sulphacetamide. In these methods the sulphonamides present in the drugs are determined via bromination using NBP or NBSA. Both the proposed methods are direct visual titration methods and are more simple than, and superior to, the existing methods for the determination of sulpha drugs.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
