Expressions for the displacement and stress fields of a sinusoidal edge dislocation in an infinitely extended isotropic medium are given. It is suggested that information on the physical properties of non-planar cracks propagating along (1 10) in intermetallics with cubic structures may be obtained by studying particular cracks which consist of continuous distributions of sinusoidal edge dislocations perpendicular to (1 10) with infinitesimal Burgers vectors.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
