Microelectronic technologies made possible the implementation of solid state based metering systems. In this paper, an ASIC design that implements all but the analog pari of a watt-hour meter is described. This A -SIC designed with the A P B B I ] technology is intented ter in a hybrid telecounting system or in a fully static watt-hour meter. In the first case, the data received and processed by the A S I C i s the disk t u m count of the F e m r i s power meter, being the transmission from the latter t o the ASIC achieved by optical interconnection. In the second case, a fully static power meter is used, and, data received by fhe A S I C are two 1.2 bit WO& representing the current and the voltage values.to be used in conjunction wit d the Ferraris power me-1
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
