The interaction between poly(oxyethylene phosphonate)s and 1,2‐epoxy‐7‐octene has been investigated. It has been established that in the presence of benzoyl peroxide there proceeds a selective addition of the P()H group to the C()C double bond. Poly(oxyethylene phosphonate)s bearing oxirane groups in the side chain have been synthesized. The new polymers can be used as polymer carriers of drugs. © 1997 John Wiley & Sons, Inc.

Some alkenyl-and alkinyl-2-cyanoacrylate monomers, possessing adhesive properties were synthesized. The ease of esterification of cyanoacetic acid, the first step of the synthesis, with some alcohols was in the following order:CH,CH, Die Einfuhrung von Doppel-und Dreifachbindungen erhohte die Festigkeit. Ungesattigte Cyanacrylate zeigten eine bessere Temperaturbestandigkeit der Klebstoffverbindung: CH, = CHCH,-> CH = CCH2-> CH = CC(CH,)H-> CH = CC(C,H,)H-> Alkyl. Dies wurde durch die Bildung einer Vernetzung in der Klebstoffschicht erklart. Dabei wurden IR und TG Analysen herangezogen.
