Studies have shown that the use of herbal feed additives «Fitopank» by Grey Ukrainian cows 30 days before calving had a positive effect not only on the body of cows-mothers and the quality of their colostrum, but also on the physiological state of the born calves and the growth energy of young animals. Adding of «Fitopank» to the cows diet helped to improve the quality of colostrum and its immunological value. It showed a probable increase of total protein by 10-14 % (P < 0.05) and immunoglobulin level by 23-25 % (P < 0.01). The titratable acidity of both the first and second milk yields was 16 % lower (P < 0.01) than in the control group. The use of this feed additive improved the immunological status of newborn calves. In their blood there was an increase of total protein content by 17 % (P < 0.05), the level of gamma globulins by 18% (p < 0.05), IgG concentrations by 14 % (p < 0.05), Ig M by 13 % and Ig A by 17 % (p<0.05), as well as the growth of T-lymphocytes by 46% and B-lymphocytes by 24 % (p < 0.01), compared with control group. Detected increased growth of the 8-12 months bulls (by 2.3%, p < 0.05) of the experimental group may indicate their tendency for better development of meat qualities. Experiment showed that the absolute live weight increase of young animals up to 18 months was higher than the control by 10.9 kg (p < 0.05). The study of the herbal supplements efficacy for the prevention and treatment of animals immunodeficiency, as well as their impact on the metabolic processes and productive qualities of farm animals will be the focus of our further research.
Decrease in productive longevity of dairy cows in conditions of industrial dairy complexes causes another problem, which is connected with the timely replenishment of the herd with calves for replacement. Therefore, the cultivation of heifers has very great impact. Much attention is focused on early prediction of the future calves productivity for obtaining highly productive cows. At the same time, the growth rates and development in ontogenesis are studied very often, but blood values are rarely evaluated. In the literature available to us, there is little information about the relationship between calves' humoral and cellular immunity values with the future productivity of the cow. These indicators are traditionally used to characterize the immunobiological reactivity of an organism and the calves' health, and there is practically no information on their relationship to the productive longevity of a dairy cow. This is partly due to the difficulties associated with the duration of the research, since the cow must complete its productive life. A positive and reliable relationship is established between the immunobiological characteristics of calves' blood and their lifelong milk yield when they become a cow. The greatest correlation was noted between the milk productivity's indicators and bactericidal activity of blood serum (r = 0.63-0.69, P < 0.05). The relationship between cellular factors of body defense (phagocytic activity of neutrophils) and the immunoglobulins content of classes G and M with signs of milk productivity was less dense. It was, respectively, r = 0.31-0.41 and r = 0.58-0.63 (P < 0.05). This makes it possible to conclude that the studies conducted in this direction are promising, and assessing calves' immune status for predicting the yield of cow milk. The results obtained by us require further confirmation in a more significant number of animals.
In the natural environment, the most dangerous contaminants of feed are mycotoxins, which negatively affect the health and productivity of animals. Ozone is a powerful oxidizer that has strong disinfectant properties, is capable of destroying microorganisms while being environmentally friendly and safe. The effect of the ozone-air mixture used for the decontamination of the feed on its nutritional and sanitary quality was evaluated. The studies were conducted at the poultry farm of Kodyma LLC of the Kodyma District of Odesa region in a poultry house with a total livestock of 5 000 heads on laying hens of Isabraun cross. Used a corona discharge ozonizer, the technological process of detoxification of feed included purging the ozone-air mixture of feed in the hopper. Two feed processing modes with different durations (t = 10 min and 60 min) and ozone concentration in the mixtures used (C = 0.1 g/m 3 and 1 g/m 3) were selected. In the experimental samples of feed was determined: the number of mesophilic aerobic and optional anaerobic microorganisms, the presence of bacteria paratyphoid group (salmonella), the presence of enteropathogenic strains of E. coli, the number of micromycetes. Determination of the microflora of the test samples was carried out by conventional methods. It is established that the ozone-air mixture does not affect the nutritional and total energy value of the compound feed. Microbiological studies have found that the total number of microorganisms in the compound feed treated with the ozone-air mixture was significantly lower than in the conventional compound feed. It was found that as a result of the ozone-air mixture the number of mesophilic aerobic and optional anaerobic microorganisms in the compound feed decreased by 99.9 %, micromycetes (fungi and yeast) were not detected. The use of environmentally friendly energy-saving technologies, including the processing of the ozone-air mixture for decontamination during storage, processing of grain, for the production of grain products and compound feeds is relevant. Ozone exerts an activating effect on protein feed structures, enhancing the absorption of amino acids by proteins. The productivity of laying hens is greatly improved.
