Industrial development inevitably leads to production and accumulation of a significant amount of industrial waste. One of these industries is metallurgy, namely the production of ferroalloys. One of the key indicators of efficient waste management in production is an economic effect of slag disposal. The article calculates the economic effect of slag utilization, taking into account the costs of maintaining the dumps. At the same time, the indicators are considered in dynamics: before the onset of the economic downturn (2013), the interim period (2018) and the final period (a year after the onset of the crisis against the backdrop of the COVID-19 pandemic). The study of the eight-year dynamics of the economic effect in national currency from waste disposal indicates a cost increase of raw materials and the salaries of maintenance personnel more than in the initial and final stages of the period, with a practically unchanged cost in the middle of the period. In the interim period, the ruble value terms changed significantly, largely due to currency fluctuations. In 2021, there is a significant increase in value for all the currencies given, due to a significant increase in the cost of raw materials, electricity and wages in Ukraine. However, the economic efficiency of the use of waste in the production of aerated concrete remains. There is also an economic effect increase of their usage. Thus, one of the tasks of the research has been solved, namely, scientifically qualified management of material-resource-energy saving through the development of a management approach based on the principle of "technology-ecology-economy".
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
