Analytical Dii icion, I I m , Hiiderabad-500 007, India Receit ved .lanuq 24, 1990. ABSTRACTA polarographic method has been developed for the estimation of acrylic acid monomer in polyacrylate. Polarograms of the polymer are recorded directly in N,N-dimetIiylf~~rmaniide (DMF) solvent using 0.02 M tetrabutyl ammonium iodide as the supporting electrolyte. This solvent system was chosen because it avoids indirect meawrements based on separation or reprecipitation procedures. The results obtained are found t o be in good agreement with ultraviolet spectrophotometric results.
