A 10-year-old by, suffering from multiple bilateral renal oncocytomas and cystic kidney disease is presented. This case is the first to be observed at this age.

The echographic appearance of the wall of normal well-filled and contracted gallbladders was studied prospectively in 25 persons. Using gray-scale equipment, the wall of the filled gallbladder appeared as a single reflecting structure, whereas during contraction, three different components could be distinguished. The exact recognition of this particular pattern is important in the differential diagnosis of real wall thickening and incomplete contraction.

Samenvatting In dit artikel beschrijven wij twee patiënten die zich presenteren met gynaecomastie als eerste symptoom van een testistumor. Histopathologisch onderzoek na orchidectomie toont het beeld van respectievelijk een seminoom en een Leydig-celtumor. Verschillende pathofysiologische mechanismen spelen een rol bij het ontstaan van gynaecomastie. In beide casussen verdween de gynaecomastie na orchidectomie. Histopathology showed a pure seminoma and Leydig cell tumor respectively. Different mechanisms can play a role in the origin of gynecomastia. In both patients, the gynecomastia disappeared after orchidectomy.
