Structure D 2000 X-Ray Powder Diffraction Studies and Bond-Valence Analysis of Hg2Sb2O7. -The title compound is prepared by heating a mixture of HgO and Sb 2 O 3 in the molar ratio of 2:1 under oxygen (450°C, 30 h) followed by annealing at 250°C for 14 d. Its cystal structure is determined by Rietveld refinement of powder XRD data. The compound crystallizes in the cubic space group Fd3m (pyrochlore structure type) with Z = 8. Crystal structures ofternary thio(seleno)hypodiphosphates of metals of groups I-IV of the periodic system were analyzed. Chemical bonds in investigated phases were descripted on the base of interatomic distances in binary and ternary compounds.
The interactions of 6 quazibinary systems were investigated by methods of physical and chemical analysis in order to study the formation of solid solutions inside them. The character of interaction in these systems depending on various factors has been explained.
