Tephrosia purpurea (fabaceae) commonly known in sanskrit as ‘sharapunkha’ is highly branched ,herbaceous, suberect, perennial herb.widely grown in india. Whole plant and various parts of the plant are useful as ayurvedic medicines. Medicinal uses of drugs are tonic, laxative, diuretic, bronchitis, bilious febrile attack, boils, pimples, diarrhea, gonorrhea, rheumatism and cures disease of heart, spleen and blood. The pharmacological studies have shown that Tephrosia purpurea posses following biological activity such as antiulcer, antimicrobial, antibacterial, anti viral, anti asthmatic ,hepatoprotective, antihyperglycemic and antihyperlipidemia, immunomodulatory activity, antioxidant, wound healing property, antiallergic activity. A wide variety of phytochemicals are isolated from the plant Tephrosia purpurea which has concerned with their medicinal uses. The present review high lights the mainly phytochemistry and pharmacological activity of the plant.
Present study was conducted with an aim to prepare extracts Nelumbo nucifera (Lotus) flower (NNFE) using a suitable extraction technique to obtain maximum yield. It was followed by phytochemical screening, pharmacognostic and pharmacological evaluation of the obtained flower extract. The macroscopic study was carried out through sensory organs like size, shape, texture etc. Phytochemical screening included both qualitative as well as quantitative analysis of the obtained extract, which indicated the presence of carbohydrates, proteins, saponins, sterols, alkaloids, phenolic compounds, glycosides, flavonoids and tannins. The obtained results can serve as a valuable source of information for identification of this plant for future investigation and its applications.
Wild Indigo or Sharpunkha occurs throughout the India and most ancient part. It is widely used in the treatment of diabetes, rheumatism, asthma and liver disorders, diarrhea and wound healing. Pharmacognostic evaluation is important tool for standardization of this plant. Hence this study is carried out in Tephrosia purpurea stem and whole plant extracts. From these studies carried out pharmacognostic and phytochemical evaluation of both extracts. Physicochemical parameter evaluation suggests that Extractive value of the methanolic extractive value is higher than other solvent as the phytoconstituent, are soluble in methanol. Phytochemical screening indicates the presence of higher amount of carbohydrate, protein, alkaloid, flavonoid, saponin, phenolic compound, fatty acids. The values were also obtained in satisfactory way. All the data of plant profile is used for the identification of quality of plant parts.
Breast cancer is world third leading cause of death in the world among women. Breast cancer is spreads from milk duct. Nano particle based formulation such as nano suspension enhance therapeutic effectiveness and reduce side effect of the drug payload by improving their bioavailability and improves the efficacy of cancer therapeutically. Naringenin is targets breast cancer cell by targeting estrogenic receptors. Bottom -Up approach was used. for preparation of naringenin gold nano suspension (NGNS).Gold has its own surface Plasmon resonance property, which targets the cell by combining with naringenin. Naringenin gold nano suspension solid particles were obtained by lyophilisation. Optimized batch of the NGNS shows the particle size by Dynamic light scattering 179.7±4.9nm with poly dispersity index of 0.28 ± 0.02.NGNS shows zeta potential -28.53±0.17. TEM image of the NGNS was show particle size of 160.7nm. The results suggested that precipitation was an effective way to prepare NGNS improves the dissolution rate for targeting cancer cells.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
