Retrograde ureteroscopy in patients with ileal conduits can be technically challenging due to distorted anatomy. This procedure can be safely performed in experienced hands with standard endourological equipment. An antegrade approach can be carried out simultaneously, which may be required in a small number of patients.
Pelvic phleboliths are a common radiological finding, especially in the older population, which continue to present diagnostic challenges in those with suspected ureteral calculi. With greater awareness, the uncertainty can be overcome by identifying defining characteristics when interpreting radiological investigations.
Radical prostatectomy (RP) is a standard treatment for men with localised prostate cancer. Robot-assisted RP (RARP) is associated with fewer intraoperative adverse events, reduced blood loss and lower complication rates compared to open and laparoscopic RP but delivers comparable oncological and functional outcomes [1]. Furthermore, the use of Enhanced Recovery after Surgery (ERAS) pathways for RARP, have improved patient recovery and experience, reducing costs and maintaining patient safety [2].
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
