This study is an investigation of the impact of familial amyloid polyneuropathy type I (FAP I, ATTR V30M) on death anxiety and symbolic immortality. Templer and Drolet's scales were administered to 524 individuals: (1) 84 relatives at risk, (2) 92 relatives not at risk for FAP I; and (3) a control group (n = 348) with no known hereditary disease in their families. At-risk relatives had, on average, a higher score for death anxiety and a lower score for symbolic immortality, than either those not-at-risk or controls. There were no significant differences in scores on either measure for those not-at-risk versus controls. Being at risk increases death anxiety and threatens the sense of symbolic immortality and psychosocial wellbeing. This may be true for other serious hereditary disorders as well. Genetic counsellors should become familiar with these concepts, feel comfortable initiating discussions about death with their patients, and be able to identify and reinforce their patients' and family members' sense of symbolic immortality.

Introduction: does not only have repercussions on the physical level, it represents a new way of life, both individually and in society. The pandemic results in invisible consequences for the mental health of the population. This study aimed to explore the consequences of Covid-19 on mental health in Portugal with a view to understanding and promoting the well-being and happiness of the Portuguese. Methodology: The study included 111 young people and adults, aged between 18 and 58 years (M = 21.81, SD = 5.34), with 43.7% males and 52.7% females. A sociodemographic questionnaire was applied to all participants, as well as the Échelle de Mesure des Manifestations du Bien-Être Psychologique, which translates into a response scale 5-point Likert type, with five subscales, including happiness. In addition, a semistructured interview with data collection instruments was administered. Results: The results obtained demonstrate the negative impact of Covid-19 on the level of wellbeing, regardless of the participant's gender or age. Discussion and Conclusion: The data presented point to the need to sensitize individuals to the risk of the pandemic in terms of mental health, thus increasing society's awareness of the psychological effects of this new global disease. Therefore, coping mechanisms are essential to promote well-being and successfully overcome the pandemic.

The Ecstasy of Santa Teresa or the Transverberation of Santa Teresa concerns a sculpture by Gian Lorenzo Bernini, which represents the mystical experience of Saint Teresa of Ávila pierced by an arrow of divine love wielded by an angel, assuming itself as one of the greatest masterpieces of the baroque style. This review aims to explore and synthesize the work of Éxtase de Santa Teresa and, at the same time, present a reflection from a clinical point of view, through a framework with the field of psychoanalysis. A bibliographic search was carried out to be able to reflect and, above all, raise questions, in a work as rich in symbolism as it is in beauty.
