These results suggest that PD is accompanied by a striking decrement in baseline ghrelin concentrations in comparison with values found both in HD and control patients. Further studies are necessary to determine mechanisms involved in ghrelin regulation in uraemic patients.
These results suggest that the relationship between TSH and BMI observed in euthyroid subjects is lost when subjects with negative autoimmunity are selected.
Normotensive hyperthyroid patients exhibit higher ambulatory SBP throughout 24 h than normotensive euthyroid subjects. Control of hyperthyroidism decreases ambulatory SBP values. Mean nocturnal fall in BP is comparable in normotensive hyperthyroid patients and control subjects.
Alterations in TFT results during hospitalization are associated with long-term mortality in elderly patients. In particular, low FT₃ levels are significantly related to all-cause and CV mortality.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
