TWO FIGURESUsing the pyridine-silver method, Ranson ( '12) found large numbers of sensory unmyelinated fibers in the spinal nerves which he traced to the small cells in the spinal ganglia. He saw the unmyelinated axons of these cells divide in the manner of a Y into a fine branch directed centrally through the dorsal root to the cord and a much thicker branch directed peripherally in the nerve. v. Lenhosshk ( '07) had previously called attention to the small size of these central branches.
