The analysis of technological procedures in transport and logistics aimed at innovating established procedures is an ongoing process not only in the present. Constant innovation can significantly reduce the operating costs and dramatically increase transport speeds. Continuous modernization reflecting customer needs keeps the rail sector competitive with other modes of transport. The research explores the use of augmented reality in procedures for processing sets of wagons in freight trains. The analysis involves technological procedures in rail freight transport at the marshalling yard, revealing characteristics of augmented reality. We assessed the feasibility of implementing options separately for the carrier, the railway infrastructure manager and the combination of both. The implementation of augmented reality is always rational, representing a simplification, acceleration or reduction of costs in the usual technological procedures. Incorrectly implemented augmented reality may cause serious complications to the technological process, including undue delays, overpricing and safety threats to employees operating in the track.
Research background:The aim of the scientific contribution is to analyze the aspect of Transport Development of the Greater Tumen Initiative. Economic cooperation among the countries of the Greater Tumen Initiative (GTI) is the basis for interaction in various fields, especially transport. Purpose of the article: However, taking into account the prevailing trends in Europe-Asia transportation, it is not entirely correct to make the implementation of GTI transport projects dependent on prospective transit freight flows. At first, it is necessary to concentrate on the transport support of foreign trade flows directly between the GTI member countries. Methods: We propose to assess the stability of foreign trade flows as a cargo base (current and potential) of transport projects within the GTI by absolute time series, which reflects the trend (or its absence, i.e. each next level is higher or lower than the previous one) and its stability, as well as by relative time series, i.e. growth rates, which reflects the stability of the change rate (the growth rate of each subsequent period is higher or lower than the previous one).Findings & Value added: Based on the results of the assessment of foreign trade flows between the member countries, that forms the current and potential cargo base of transport projects, it was concluded not only about a high degree of stability and potential of foreign economic cooperation, but also about the need of extra measures for its further intensifying, including foreign trade transport services improvement.
Research background: Brazil, Russia, India, China, as well as South Africa (BRICS) have such economic potential that, according to the expert community, by 2050 they may become the dominant economies of the world. The aim of the scientific contribution is to analyze the BRICS countries about Logistics Performance Index (LPI). Purpose of the article: Using the diagnostic matrix method, the analysis of the logistics development of the BRICS countries according to the estimates presented above makes it possible to characterize them according to each criterion, as well as to form a general characteristic. In addition, it is necessary to calculate the delta of the indicator for each criterion for each country for the selected study period. Methods: We suggest using the Logistics Performance Index (LPI) and Emerging Market Logistics Index (EMLI) ratings as an information base for analyzing the logistics development of the BRICS countries. The LPI rating is calculated every two years by the World Bank, which, together with the University of Turku, developed it in 2007. Findings & Value added: As the analysis has shown, even within the framework of integration groups, such as the BRICS, the level of logistics development is quite different. The undisputed leader according to LPI is China, which bypasses other countries of the grouping not only in terms of the level of infrastructure development, in which some of the world's largest financial investments are made, but also in the quality of logistics services, customs and border clearance, organization of international transport, cargo tracking. timeliness of their delivery.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
