Assertive communication communicates what you think, feel, and want clearly and unequivocally to others without feeling intimidating, violating, and belittling the rights of yourself and others. The purpose of this research is to find out the language used, the events of communication between groups and settings that occur between ethnic Arabian and ethnis Sundanese in Empang Village Bogor City, the patterns of interpersonal communication that occur in ethnic Arabian and ethnic Sundanese in Empang Village Bogor City. The theory which used in the thesis are speaking theory Dell Hymes. This research using qualitative approach methode with study etnografy communication. The subject of the thesis are ethnic Arabian and ethnic Sundaneese. The focus of the thesis is to analyze the Communication Pattern of Arabian Ethnic and Sundaneese Ethnic in Empang Village Bogor City. The thesis reveals that the language used between ethnic Arabian and ethnic Sundaneese is the language of Sundaneese and Indonesia language, the communication in activities trade, the setting in which communication in place of trade, and relations the communication among ethnic Arabian and ethnic Sundaneese in Empang Village Bogor City is lasting scientific and interwoven with good. Teori yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah teori speaking oleh Dell Hymes. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode pendekatan kualitatif dengan studi etnografi komunikasi. Subjek penelitian ini adalah Etnis Arab dan Etnis Sunda. Fokus penelitian ini adalah mengkaji Pola Komunikasi Antar Etnis Arab dan Etnis Sunda di Kelurahan Empang Kota Bogor. Hasil penelitian mengungkapkan bahwa bahasa yang digunakan antara etnis Arab dengan etnis Sunda adalah bahasa Sunda dan bahasa Indonesia, peristiwa komunikasi dalam kegiatan perdagangan, setting yang terjadi pola komunikasi ada di tempat perdagangan, dan hubungan pola komunikasi antar etnis Arab dan etnis Sunda di Kelurahan Empang Kota Bogor berlangsung ilmiah serta terjalin dengan baik.
