Kapuas Hulu, as conservation districts, established regional wildlife corridor that connected Betung Kerihun and Danau Sentarum National Park as a Strategic Area District which highlight aspects of the environment. This wildlife corridor holds a prominent role in the movement of animals, especially orangutans of both national parks. This research was conducted to identify the impact of land use policies on the distribution of orangutans in the corridor. Although it has been designated as a wildlife corridor, many land conversion disconnecting wildlife corridors such as road construction, large-scale plantations development, land clearing for settlement, cultivation, and deforestation. However, the two national parks still offers a secure place for orangutans. A remote sensing technology was used to map the distribution and habitat suitability for the orangutan in the wildlife corridor. Seven parameters were observed to study the habitat of orangutans. The results revealed that the habitat suitability level of wildlife corridor was 49.94%, 46.61% and 3.46% for high, moderate and low level of suitability respectively. The results were supported by validation of 32.29% and 67.71% for moderate and high suitability respectively. ABSTRAKKabupaten Kapuas Hulu sebagai kabupaten konservasi telah menetapkan daerah koridor satwa yang menghubungkan Taman Nasional Betung Kerihun dan Taman Nasional Danau Sentarum sebagai Kawasan Strategis Kabupaten yang menonjolkan aspek lingkungan. Koridor satwa ini memiliki peranan yang penting bagi pergerakan satwa terutama orangutan dari kedua taman nasional ini. Studi ini dilakukan untuk memahami dampak tata guna lahan terhadap sebaran orangutan, di koridor satwa. Pembukaan jalan, perkebunan skala besar, pembukaan lahan untuk pemukiman, perladangan serta penebangan hutan telah menjadi penyebab terputusnya habitat orangutan. Wilayah yang masih aman sebagai habitat orangutan adalah di dalam kawasan taman nasional. Penelitian ini dilakukan menggunakan teknologi penginderaan jarak jauh untuk memetakan sebaran dan kesesuaian habitat orangutan di kawasan koridor satwa. Tujuh parameter habitat orangutan digunakan dalam analisis spasial kesesuaian habitat. Dari hasil penelitian ini didapatkan bahwa kawasan koridor memiliki tingkat kesesuaian habitat yang tinggi sebesar 49.94%, tingkat kesesuaian sedang sebesar 46.61% dan kesesuaian yang rendah sebesar 3.46%. dan hasil ini ditunjang dengan besaran nilai validasi untuk kelas kesesuaian sedang sebesar 32.29% dan kelas kesesuaian tinggi sebesar 67.71%.
[GROWTH OF OIL PALM SEEDLINGS IN PRE-NURSERY UNDER DIFFERENT MEDIA COMPOSITIONS AND CONCENTRATIONS OF Azolla pinnata LIQUID FERTILIZER]. Vigourous seedling is prerequisite to successful production of oil palm. Aside from the genetic quality of the planting material, supply of nutrients during early growth of the seedling play an important role in determinting the overall seedling performances. This study was performed to determine the best combination of media composition and concentration of liquid fertilizer made of Azolla pinnata for oil palm seedling growth during pre-nursery. A factorial arrangement of the treatments involving growing media consisted of different composition of oil palm empty fruit bunches compost and soil (1: 1, 1: 2, and 2: 1 v/v) and different concentration of Azolla pinnata liquid fertilizer applications (0, 20, 40, and 60 mL/L) were arranged in a randomized complete block design with three replications. Data were collected for leaf number, stem diameter, seedling height, and leaf greenness at 30, 60, and 90 days after sowing (DAS). A significant interaction effect between the treatments was observed on leaf number at 60 and 90 DAS. A further regression analysis revealed that the highest number of leaves (4.3 at 60 DAS and 6.9 at 90 DAS) were attained on the media composition of 1:1 with liquid fertilizer application at 37.5 and 56 mL/L, respectively. Seedling height and stem diameter at 90 DAP showed quadratic responses to the increasing concentration of the liquid fertilizer applications. The maximum seedling height (26.22 cm) was attained at the liquid fertilizer concentrations of 36.21 mL/L. Similarly, the maximum stem diameter (7.43 mm) was attained at the concentration of 51.00 ml/L. The leaf greeneess at 60 DAS was increased in a linear fashion with the increasing concentration of the liquid fertilizer.
[MANURE APPLICATION AS A SOIL AMENDMENT TO PROMOTE GROWTH AND YIELD OF MELON (Cucumis melo L.) IN ULTISOL]. The application of manure may overcome soil fertility problems in Ultisol triggered by low pH, high P retention, high content of Al and Fe, and low CEC. The objective of this study was to determine the optimum dose of different manures applied to promote the best growth and yield of melon. The study was conducted from February to May 2019 at the Experimental Plot of the Faculty of Agriculture, University of Bengkulu. Three different manures (chicken, cow, and goat manure) were applied at 5, 10, 15, and 20 tons/ha. These treatments were arranged in Completely Randomized Design with three replications. The results show that the enhancement in chlorophyll content (SPAD index) was highest in plots solely applied with 20 tons ha-1 manure, whereas application of manure even at 20 tons/ha had no effects on melon yield and its components. Manure types solely promoted plant height, maturity date, fruit diameter, and soluble solid content (Brix). Melon growth and yield were not affected by combined application of manure type and dose. These indicate that application of manure types irrespective of the amount applied failed to solve fertility problems in Ultisol where melon was grown.
<em>Kepahiang Robusta coffee has received a Geographical Indication (GI) certificate. Maintaining the quality of green coffee bean has been achieved through the application of proper harvesting technology. This study aimed to evaluate the effect of fruit maturity level when harvested on yield losses due to coffee berry borer (CBB) and the quality of green coffee bean. The research was conducted from December 2019 to August 2020 in Bukit Sari Village, Kabawetan District, Kepahiang Regency, Bengkulu Province. The harvested beans were categorized into 3 groups based on their maturity level, namely: red (K1), reddish yellow (K2), and yellowish green (K3). The parameters observed were the CBB infecteds, yield, physical quality of green coffee bean and chemical content. The results showed that the highest attack rate of CBB found in the red berry about 34.33%, whereas the highest rendement was 20.52% found in yellowish-green berry. The highest percentage of yield loss due to CBB attacks occurred in red berry at 30.23%. However, the best physical quality and chemical content was also found in the red berry.</em>

Untuk meningkatkan nilai tambah produk, perlu dilakukan penelitian untuk mendapatkan disain kemasan terbaik. Penelitian bertujuan untuk mengetahui gambaran dan pengaruh disain kemasan baik secara simultan maupun secara parsial terhadap keputusan pembelian konsumen madu murni. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa bahan kemasan yang ideal untuk produk madu murni bunga kopi adalah bahan kemasan botol jika dibanding dengan flexible packaging. Hal ini dikarenakan bahan kemasan botol mampu memenuhi fungsinya sebagai kemasan yang efisien dan efektif. Disain grafis juga memegang peranan penting dalam pemasaran produk. Secara grafis disain yang disukai oleh panelis adalah warna yang lebih kontras antara warna dasar label dengan bunga kopi yang ditampilkan.
