Using the solvothermal method, we present the comparative preparation of [Zn 2 (Hfhba) 4 (phen) 2 ] (1), [Zn 2 (Hfhba) 4 (2,2 0 -bipy) 2 ] (2) and [Zn 2 (Hfhba) 4 (4,4 0 -bipy) 2 ] n (3), where H 2 fhba is 5-fluoro-2-hydroxy-benzoic acid, phen is 1,10-Phenanthroline, 2,2 0 -bipy is 2,2 0 -Bipyridine, 4,4 0 -bipy is 4,4 0 -Bipyridine. Complexes 1-3 were characterized by elemental analysis, IR, UV-Vis spectroscopy, and X-ray single-crystal diffraction. Complexes 1 and 2 are two new dinuclear complexes and 3 is a 1-D polymer. Luminescent properties of 1-3 have also been studied.
A new co-crystal complex [Ni 7 (emmp) 6 (CH 3 O) 2 (OH) 4 ][Ni(emmp) 2 ]·(ClO 4 ) 2 (1, Hemmp is 2-ethoxy-6-methyliminomethyl-phenol) has been synthesised by microwave-assisted method. Complex 1 was characterised by IR spectroscopy, elemental analysis, Raman spectroscopy and X-ray single-crystal diffraction. The complex consists of a heptanuclear cation cluster [Ni 7 (emmp) 6 (CH 3 O) 2 (OH) 4 ] 2þ , a mononuclear complex [Ni(emmp) 2 ] and two counteranions. Complex 1 displays the contents of antiferromagnetic and ferromagnetic properties.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
