Urban governments show considerable interest in formulating policies for a more sustainable transportation sector. In Australia, despite the Commonwealth Government Ecologically Sustainable Development ͑ESD͒ Transport Working Group making over 40 recommendations for more sustainable urban transportation a decade ago, a recent Institution of Engineers Australia, Transport Panel found little progress with transportation indicators of sustainability and appropriate analytical techniques. A review of the international literature is made to determine definitions of a sustainable urban transportation and land use system, and objectives that would form the basis for determining suitable indicators of performance. Drawing on hierarchical diagrams from decision theory, we show the link between higher-level policy objectives for sustainability and lower-order actions, measurable attributes, and performance indicators. The analytical framework for sustainable urban transportation analysis includes descriptive statistics-exploratory and graphical methods, spatial mapping, spatial statistics ͑to identify geographical patterns and to identify outliers in the data͒, regression analysis, travel preference functions based on Stouffer's intervening opportunity
Karangasem region is the lowest income region in Bali Province-Indonesia. The people are highly dependent on using motorcycle for their daily movement. Karangasem has a high fatality rate of traffic accidents. There are 190 cases of the traffic accident and causing the death of 140 people. The number of accidents involving motorcycles are 172 cases. The objective of this study is to investigate factors that influence fatal traffic accidents involving motorcycles. This study used traffic accident data over 6 years period from 2007-2012 and applied logistic regression. It was found that there are four variable significantly affect accident fatality at 95% confidence level, i.e. accident location, collision type, violation type, and age.
Realizing the vision of sustainable cities in Indonesia is a necessity. The Indonesian government continues to encourage all parties making various approaches to solving the urban problems to create a livable city in 2045. The TOD is widely recognized by researchers as one of the most feasible and comprehensive sustainable planning approaches. In Indonesia, only Jakarta has begun implementing TOD since 2017. This study aims to obtain respondents' perceptions (government, business actors, and experts) to assess the alignment of the Jakarta TOD Model compared with the key success factor of TOD best practice, also in line with the principles of urban transportation sustainable development. This analysis is quantitative descriptive for hypothesis testing uses non-parametric statistical tests: Independent and Bayesian One-Sample T-Test. The results of the analysis show us that the Jakarta TOD Application Model is not in line yet with the principles of urban and transportation sustainable development. This is caused by several factors of Bayes interpretation. Refers to the result of variable Large Bayes effect analysis (based on Cohen's value d), its need to be rearrangement some regulations and/or policies by considering: an institutional improvement, integrated planning, definition of TOD, partnership patterns, development strategy, sustainable and inclusive development goals.
Cargo Terminal which has 70 units space is holding control of freight passing through the city center and as a place of loading and unloading of goods vehicles which do not have a warehouse. However, the activity of loading and unloading of goods is still widely practiced in the right of way which causes traffic jams. This triggers the Denpasar government to develop Terminal Kargo Denpasar so as to supply the demand for parking and loading and unloading activities. The purpose of this study was to analyze the characteristics of the parking and future parking needs in developing Terminal Kargo Denpasar . The method used to obtain data through direct surveys such as inventory survey and survey cordon parking and secondary data obtained from the relevant agencies. The analysis shows the volume of parking of vehicles is 44,5 vehicles / hour, parking capacity is 36 vehicles / hour, parking supply as much as 372 vehicles and 4 for Parking Index that indicates there has been a problem of parking in the Terminal Cargo Denpasar. It is show Terminal Kargo Denpasar has been unable to supply activity goods vehicles. The amount of the parking requirements for development of Terminal Kargo based on parking characteristic analysis are 101 spaces.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
