The Cu(I)-based complex prepared from (S)-2-(furan-2-yl-methylamino)-2-phenylethanol (5c) and CuCl was used as catalyst in enantioselective Henry reactions of arylaldehydes and nitromethane, which gave 89% ee and 95% yield at ambient temperature. The proposed catalytic cycle of an asymmetric Henry reaction was suggested.
In the title compound, C16H14ClN3O2, all bond lengths and angles are normal. The mean plane of the oxadiazoline ring makes dihedral angles of 1.94 (3) and 82.05 (3)° with the substituted pyridine and benzene rings, respectively. No classical hydrogen bonds are evident in the crystal packing.
In the title compound, C18H15ClFN3O4, the dihedral angle between the substituted pyridine ring and the oxadiazoline ring is 9.73 (19)° and the acyl group is coplanar with the oxadiazoline ring [O—C—N—C torsion angle = −2.1 (3)°]. Furthermore, the substituted benzene ring is almost orthogonal with the oxadiazoline ring, the dihedral angle between them being 87.56 (18)°.

scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
