A nuclear-physics laboratory course of one-quarter duration involving the extensive use of a high-flux neutron generator is described. The generator's characteristics make it a reliable and relatively inexpensive nuclear-physics tool for instructional purposes. Nine typical experiments from the wide range of student investigations possible are discussed. An introduction to present research efforts with the generator is an integral part of the laboratory experience.
