Catalysts H 2000Catalytic Properties of Nanostructured Pt and Ru Metal Clusters over Alumina Promoted by CeO 2 . -0.5%Pt-0.5%Ru/2%Ce/(θ+α)-Al 2 O 3 , reduced in H 2 at 1173 K, partially oxidizes CH4 into synthesis-gas at short contact times with high conversion of methane and selectivity for CO and H2 close to 100% due to the presence of nanoparticles of Pt and Ru. Methane is activated on Pt and Ru metal clusters while oxygen is activated on the Ce oxide nanostructures. Increasing the contact time reduces slightly the conversion of CH 4 to 82% and selectivity by CO and H 2 . The ratio H 2 /CO is close to 2. Such a ratio is ideal for synthesis of methanol and hydrocarbons. -(DOSSUMOV*, K.; SALAKHOVA, R. K.; POPOVA, N. M.; TUNGATAROVA, S. A.; GRIGORIEVA, V. P.; KOMASHKO, L. V.; SASS, A. S.; J. scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
