The sensitivity of ApcMin/+ mice to the induction of intestinal tumours by radiation was shown to be in the order: 10 d neonates>2 d neonates>35 d young adults>14 d fetus>7 d embryo.
X-ray or fission neutron irradiation results in strongly enhanced tumour multiplicities. Comparison of tumour yields indicated a low Relative Biological Effectiveness of around 2-8 for fission neutrons compared with X-rays. LOH in intestinal tumours from neutron-exposed mice appeared to be more complex than previously reported for tumours from X-irradiated mice.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
