Methods for the production of o-, m-, and p-pyridinophanes containing only one pyridine ring and an allcarbon polymethylene chain are reviewed.Pyridinophanes are bridged compounds of pyridines in which a polymethylene chain links the o-(2,3-and 3,4-), m-(2,4-, 3,5-, and 2,6-), and p-(2,5-) positions of the ring. All these forms are represented by structures (I-IV), where n is the number of links in the polymethylene chain [1, 2].
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
