Bilateral dislocation of the shoulder is rare and still very rare when it arises during the sleep due to an epileptic seizure. We report in this work the case of a young 24-year-old patient not known epileptic before and who never has a convulsive crisis. We discuss the mechanism of this uncommon variety of shoulder dislocation and modalities of treatment.
The Hoffa's disease is a rare and little-known cause of anterior knee pain. It was first reported by Albert Hoffa in 1904. It is due to chronic impingement of fat pad Hoffa between the femur and the tibia during knee extension. The formation of the Hoffa's chondroma appears to be the final phase of acute-chronic transformation process of this disease. We present a case of chondroma of Hoffa which received complete resection under arthroscopy. We show in this work the clinical appearance, radiological and pathological chondroma of the Hoffa.
The osteogenic exostosis or osteochondroma usually reveals a tumor siting preferably in the knee area. Vascular complications exostoses are known and exceptional even if the frequency of these tumors is important, and we related a case report about a young man of 23 years old who suffers from a mass filling the popliteal area of the left knee, projecting on the popliteal pedicle. We proceed to the excision of the entire lesion. The arterial pseudoaneurysm is the most common vascular complication of exostosis especially in his popliteal location. MRI angiography is necessary, to mentioned osteochondroma aspect, the rule is: any painful exostosis must be removed because the risks of degeneration are real but rare.
Fractures of the femoral head are rarely described. These fractures are diagnostic problems. The multiplicity of lesions associated with traumatic dislocations of the hip joint makes it difficult to establish a well-d therapeutic approach. A young biker suffers from dislocation of the hip fracture associated with a femoral head. Our approach was surgery. We use a Smith-Petersen exposure and the orthopedic table, useful for accessing and fixing fragment. There are many therapeutic options and depending on type of lesion, osteoarthritis is the most common complication.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
