Poor oral hygiene in adult patients, reported and analyzed in different studies that have been done worldwide, has generated a high rate of dental loss. Partial edentulism is defined as a state of oral health that is the cause of an adverse effect of the state of oral health that corresponds to the absence of a certain number of teeth in the mouth. Most of the population has an incomplete but functional dentition, there is another large population group that does not have prosthetic restorations, which are very necessary. The causes of partial edentulism can be congenital or acquired. Total congenital edentulism manifests as a very serious congenital syndrome, which, generally, are not compatible with the patient's life. On the other hand, acquired edentulism refers to dental loss during one’s life and can be of secondary causes such as caries or dental loss as mentioned, such is determining the prevalence of partial edentulism in patients of the Faculty of Dentistry at the Universidad Autónoma de Campeche with the Kennedy classification. The loss of dental pieces results in the alteration of the stomatognathic system, resulting in the alteration of the masticatory function, affecting the nutritional state, general health and quality of life. Several studies have affirmed that edentulism, in addition to being related to the patient’s nutritional state, is also associated with the following factors: quality of life, age, gender of the patient. An observational, descriptive cross-sectional study was carried out at the Universidad Autónoma de Campeche, in the clinics of the Faculty of Dentistry. The population for this study was 100 subjects. The total number of subjects studied was 100 subjects (n=100), 51% were male and 49% female, the mean age was 59 years with a standard deviation of 11 and a range of 53. Regarding the variable, educational stage, the majority only studied middle school followed by primary school. The distribution of the prevalence of partial edentulism with respect to sex, Kennedy class II reported prevalence in males with 21%. It is followed by class I in males with 10%, class III in third place but in females with 18% and finally class IV where females also prevail with 12%. This study shows that the most prevalent of evaluated patients was found to be Kennedy class II in the male sex, since it was the most representative of the population with 21%, while, on the part of the female patients, it was 18% in class III.
Introduction: Insulin is a hormone secreted by the pancreas that has the function of controlling blood sugar concentration. The most common type of diabetes is type 2 which occurs 90 to 95% of cases. The most frequent alterations at the stomatological level are periodontal disease, gingivitis, caries, xerostomia (dry mouth syndrome), so there is a need to investigate how susceptible patients are to suffer from this disease and to be able to take the necessary preventive measures. had similar plaque levels. RESULTS: The sample studied corresponded to a total of 100 patients, 49 female (49%), and 51 male (51%). The average age of the sample was 54.89 years ± 10.85 years with a range of ages between 40 and 70 years. The most representative age group was the group of 40 to 50 years with 39%, followed by the group of 51-60 years with 37% and the group of 61-70 years with 24%. In the Gingival index it was found that 45% of the patients presented mild gingivitis, 13% moderate gingivitis and 21% severe gingivitis.

Introduction: Today the aesthetic demand in dentistry occupies the first places in terms of consultation needs in the dental office, that is why, as providers of dental health services, we are obliged to offer treatment options that meet standards of quality, functionality, aesthetics, predictability among other things and that are available to different social levels4. There are techniques that supported by elements such as Digital Smile Design (DSD) 9, wax up and mockup5 offer excellent, predictable aesthetic results, with the option of choosing different materials that are available to all our patients from composite resin to better than we find today; the porcelain clinical case: A 25-year-old female patient who goes to a dental office for teeth whitening, when diagnosing the case, the presence of diastema was observed in the upper centers, as well as anomalies regarding aesthetic smile parameters such as pigmentation, proportions , incisal edge line, among other things. Diagnostic waxing, mockup and photographs were performed to evaluate the result. The treatment plan consisted of 6 resin veneers made with the fluid resin injection technique through a transparent silicone matrix (Flow injection technique). RESULTS: The prognosis of the case is considered favorable, taking into account that the treatment with Resins is not definitive, however functional and aesthetic results were achieved properly. Conclusions: There are several treatment alternatives for the solution of aesthetic problems, which adapt to the possibilities of each patient, the mockup is a necessary tool for obtaining predictable treatments. The fluid resin injection technique is a good aesthetic and functional treatment, which sometimes does not require the minimum wear of the teeth to be treated.
Good oral health goes hand in hand with good dental hygiene, this guarantees well-being in people. Unfortunately, people do not have good dental hygiene due to various factors, one of them is personal economy. According to the study carried out by the Key-Stone Consultant under the title, "Patients in the dental sector", 21% of patients admit not going to a dental clinic, despite having some oral problem present, due to economic difficulties, lack of time, lack of importance given. This generates an accumulation of microorganisms in the oral cavity generating a bacterial plaque giving rise to dental calculus or dental tartar and this causes endless oral problems such as lack of dental aesthetics. This research work studies dental calculus as well as the relationship of associated factors for this condition to be generated. This is achieved from the exhaustive review of scientific articles concerning the oral health problem, analyzing the prevalence of dental calculus in young -adults in the suburban neighborhood of the city of San Francisco de Campeche during the year 2021 is the main objective. In interviews conducted with young patients, the analysis showed that of 20 people who were interviewed, 14 brush only twice a day and therefore there is a visualization of the presence of dental calculus presenting other diseases. 50% of people have economic problems which limit their ability to go to the dentist. The lack of time to do an adequate dental cleaning is also a factor that was presented in the suburban area since 70% admitted to having a lack of time. Concerning visits to the dentist, the analysis resulted in 8 people never going to the dentist and only one person going 3 times for braces. In this project, dental calculus is a factor that causes multiple problems in the oral cavity that are associated with the lack of good responsible habits with the mouth. The same dental calculus causes the loss of teeth. It is extremely relevant to promote dental education in young people as in adults with the purpose of raising awareness and changing the attitude of the most vulnerable population of these suburban areas of the city of Campeche. The implementation of oral health programs is necessary in order to improve them.
