Mathematics for young learners should be taught in a fun way, using a familiar context. Incorporating games into the classroom is a way to engage students in mathematics and hence improve their learning outcomes. This article reports a qualitative study conducted to improve students’ understanding of angle measurement by implementing snakes and ladders game. A class consisted of 30 fourth-grade students at a primary school in Banda Aceh, Indonesia, participated in the study. Data on the students’ activity during learning and their learning outcomes were collected using observation sheet and tests. Results showed that the implementation of the snakes and ladders game in the teaching and learning of angles successfully improved the students’ attention during learning and their interactions with the teacher and their peers. There was also a significant improvement in the students’ learning outcomes from the average score of 45 for pre-test to 85 for post-test. These findings suggest that the implementation of snakes and ladders game is beneficial for students’ mathematics learning.
The aims of this study are to analyze the effectiveness of students’ worksheets assisted with Google Form during the Covid-19 pandemic, to find out whether this worksheets would improve students’ interest and independence of learning, and to reveal the percentage of teachers’ interest to use this worksheets. The sample of the research was the whole junior high school mathematics teacher in Langsa Kota and the object of the research is the effectiveness of the worksheets which use Google Form. The data were collected by the instrument of questionnaire and observation. The students’ independence of learning were categorized into medium with the responses of 93% and teacher interest to use the worksheets is categorized high (more than 50% per category). It can be concluded that the use of the Google Form worksheets could improve students’ learning independence, stimulates students’ learning interest, and increase teacher interest to be able to use the worksheets with Google Form in their classroom.
AbstrakData survival adalah data yang memiliki durasi waktu yang dimulai dari waktu awal sampai dengan waktu akhir ketika sebuah peristiwa yang diamati terjadi. Data lama waktu penerbitan perizinan izin gangguan atau Hinder Ordonantie (HO) di Dinas Penanaman Modal dan Pelayanan Terpadu Satu Pintu (DPM-PTSP) Kota Banda Aceh merupakan data survival dengan peristiwa yang diamati adalah proses penyelesaian penerbitan perizinan HO. Dengan demikian, data tersebut dapat dianalisis dengan menggunakan metode analisis survival. Penelitian ini menggunakan data sekunder yang dihimpun melalui berkas permohonan perizinan HO pada tahun 2016. Jumlah sampel yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah sebanyak 36 kasus yang ditentukan dengan menggunakan rumus Slovin. Data survival tersebut dikategorikan tersensor apabila lama waktu penyelesaian proses perizinan HO lebih dari 7 hari. Metode analisis data yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah Cox Proportional Hazard (Cox PH) model. Terdapat 11 variabel penjelas yang diduga mempengaruhi lamanya waktu penerbitan perizinan HO di DPM-PTSP Kota Banda Aceh. Analisis data dengan Cox PH model menunjukkan bahwa hanya 3 dari 11 variabel penjelas yang memiliki pengaruh yang signifikan. Ketiga variabel tersebut adalah biaya retribusi, kategori status gangguan dan luas tempat usaha. Sedangkan variabel lain yang berkaitan dengan latar belakang dan status pemohon terbukti tidak signifikan. Hal ini menunjukkan bahwa pelayanan di DPM-PTSP Kota Banda Aceh telah dilakukan secara jujur, berintegritas, profesional dan independen sesuai dengan capaian kinerja DPM-PTSP Kota Banda Aceh.Kata kunci: analisis survival, cox proportional hazard, izin gangguan (HO), lama waktu penerbitan perizinan. AbstractSurvival data is data that has a duration of time starting from the initial time to the end time when an observed event occurs. Length time data of completion of the disruption permit or Hinder Ordonantie(HO) in the One-door integrated investment and services office (DPM-PTSP) of Banda Aceh City is a survival data with the observed event is the process of completing the issuance of the disruption permit (HO). Therefore, the data could be analysed by using survival analysis methods. The study uses secondary dataset which is collected from the application files of HO in 2016. The number of sample uses in the study is 36 cases that determined by using Slovin formula. The survival data is categorised as a censoring dataset if the completion time of an application is longer than 7 days. The data analysis method used in this study is a Cox Proportional Hazard (Cox PH) model. There are 11 predictor variables that are suspected to affect the length time of issuance of the disruption permit (HO) at DPM-PTSP of Banda Aceh. Data analysis with Cox PH model shows that only 3 out of 11 predictor variables have significant effect on the model. Basic Biology subjects are integrated between theory and practicum. Practical learning is an essential way that teachers can take to improve students' science process skills, so a valid instrument is needed to measure it. The objective of this study is to produce a valid performance assessment instrument in practical learning; a student worksheet in practical learning; the improvement of science process skills; and teacher response. The type of research is referring to model of 4-D. The subject of research is composed of the students in the odd semester academic year 2021-2022 at SMA Muhammadiyah Langsa. Instruments of research consist of validation sheet, student worksheet, observation sheet, questionnaire. The findings show validity score is 84% (good category); student worksheet in practical learning is 43% (very good category); there is the improvement of students science process skills before and after the practical learning, which shows by N-gain value of 0.64% (high category); and teacher response to developed performance assessment instrument is 83% (very practical category).
