We propose a method for evaluating the 3D image quality with a peak signal to noise ratio (PSNR) and structural similarity index (SSIM), which are image comparison metrics. Compare light field display (LFD) quality level with existing 3D X‐Talk evaluation and depth range evaluation method. And we proceed verification of image comparison metrics through 2D image. After creating a pattern dedicated to 3D evaluation for 3D application of image comparison metrics, 3D image quality evaluation is carried out. In summary, the present paper proposes a method for performing 3D image quality evaluation through image comparison metrics using only 3D images.
