Abstract-Ethanol extract from the leaves of Platycladus orientaliswere investigated for their anthelmintic activity against Pheretima posthuma. Three concentrations (1%, 2.5% and 5%) of extract were studied in activity, which involved the determination of time of paralysis and death of the worm. The extract exhibited significant dose dependent anthelmintic activity. Piperazine citrate in same concentration as that of extract was included as standard reference and distilled water as control. The anthelmintic activity of ethanol extract of Platycladus orientalishas therefore been demonstrated for the first time.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
