Based on the adaptive importance sampling (AIS) method, an analyzing model examines the effect of coherent and incoherent crosstalk accumulation on the transmission performance of wavelengthdivision-multiplexed (WDM) networks. The expression of the average bit error probability of a wavelength channel is given. We study the probability distribution of power penalties, which are influenced by the network nodes number, the WDM wavelength number, and the crosstalk level of optical components.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
