Studies in psycholinguistics, memory and psychological assessment of vocabulary and related measures may be greatly facilitated in our country through a uniform word list by frequency based on common textbook used across the country. Present study has used NCERT Class 1 English Textbook Marigold to analyse the word frequencies and prepare an academic word list for the researchers. Findings are discussed in terms of size of vocabulary, word length, word frequencies, word types, word tokens, and PoS tags unit wise and on the whole.
