The syntheses and structures of a series of complexes based on thet Bu-4, C 6 H 4 OMe-4; Xyl = 3,5-Me 2 C 6 H 3 ). The X-ray structures reveal a broad range of dispositions determined by the different coordination modes of Ag(I) or Cu(I). The complexes are bright photoemitters in the solid state and in poly(methyl methacrylate) (PMMA) films. The photoluminescence is dominated by 3 IL(C ∧ C) transitions, with indirect effects from the rest of the molecules, as supported by theoretical calculations. This work opens up the possibility of accessing Au(III) carbon-rich anions to construct photoluminescent aggregates.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
