Organo-phosphorus compoundsOrgano-phosphorus compounds S 0080 Cyclopentannulation of 3-Phospholenes: An Expedient Route to the 2-Phosphabicyclo[3.3.0]octene Ring System. -3-Phospholene derivatives undergo regio-and stereoselective annulation reaction with 1,3-dihaloalkanes to give 2-phosphabicyclo[3.3.0]octene derivatives. This reaction is also applied to the acyclic allylic substrate (XIV).
