Tracheal stenosis is a serious, life-threatening complication with increasing incidence. Among these stenoses, a significant number belongs to the posttraumatic ones. Acute tracheal intervention during an unstable intraoperative condition often requires supporting the respiratory and hemodynamic systems. The present paper is dedicated to this topic; the management of acute posttraumatic tracheal stenosis while applying the support of a lung assist device.
