A Amazônia tem sido palco de vários estudos e pesquisas sobre a relação das atividades desenvolvidas e os seus impactos em todo o ecossistema. Neste sentido, o estudo do uso e cobertura do solo possibilitam entender as mudanças e transformações que ocorreram em determinad o território ao longo do tempo. Diante disso, este trabalho teve como objetivo analisar o avanço da fronteira agrícola na Amazônia Oriental, o cultivo da soja e as principais mudanças no uso e cobertura do solo na Microrregião de Paragominas no período de 2011 a 2021. A partir do estudo identificou-se que as principais mudanças que ocorreram foram a perda da formação florestal, aumento na classe agropecuária, sobretudo na área plantada de soja com o aumento de 509,6% e na silvicultura de 216%. Essas mudanças trazem várias externalidades negativas para o território sendo necessário práticas mais sustentáveis que tragam melhor equilíbrio sistêmico.
This work aimed to carry out an overview of agriculture carried out in the municipality of Naviraí/MS in the years 2021/2022 and its impacts on the economy of the municipality and region. In Naviraí, IAGRO controls 946 property records and AGRAER serves 285 family farmers who sell their produce for school meals (PNAE) and also serve local businesses. Today, the municipality has become a pole municipality in the south of the state of Mato Grosso do Sul. Favored by the agribusiness that has leveraged the economy of the municipality and region, mainly by the production of sugarcane, soy and corn that has reached production records every year and also an increase in areas destined for agriculture, where currently the municipality stands out for having cultivated more than 120,000 hectares of soybeans in the last harvest, an area that has been growing every year in all cultures, that is, agribusiness has strengthened the municipality's economy, which has made the municipality not only a hub in southern region of the state, but also a reference for agribusiness in the state, a situation confirmed by the city's GDP Per Capita, today it ranks 12th in the state of Mato Grosso do Sul. In 2000, in the municipality of Naviraí, the agricultural area was 39,068 hectares in 2021 it increased to 120 thousand hectares, when compared to the area destined for temporary agriculture in the year 2000 it was 39,068 hectares in 2021 the municipality had 120 thousand hectares destined to temporary agriculture. When we look at the land use map of the municipality of Naviraí in 2000, only 10,972 hectares were used for planting soybeans in the municipality, in 2021 soybeans were planted in 120 thousand hectares in the municipality, an increase of more than 995%, which shows that agriculture has grown a lot in the municipality of Naviraí, occupying a prominent position in the state of Mato Grosso do Sul. Dozens of companies and industries linked to agribusiness are installed in the municipality, such as JBS (slaughtering and tannery), Usina Rio Amambai and Copasul, each generating hundreds of jobs, especially Copasul, which had revenues in 2021 of R$3, 3 billion, generates approximately 1 thousand jobs and is the main company in Mato Grosso do Sul. Family farming in the municipality plays an important role in this scenario, since several products produced in the reed settlement and green district are marketed for school lunches and marketed within the municipality and in the region, strengthening agricultural activity in the municipality.
The objective of this work is to carry out an overview of agribusiness in Dourados and its importance in the economy of the municipality and state. The municipality of Dourados, Mato Grosso do Sul, is the second largest municipality in population in the state, living up to its name called model municipality. It has an area of 4,086,387 km², being in a privileged region where its agricultural production is easily shipped to any part of the country. Dourados stands out with its thriving activity in agribusiness. The Human Development Index (HDI) of the municipality is 0.747. It has the 3rd largest GDP of the 79 municipalities in the state. The activities of industry, service, commerce, education and leisure are the main economic activities developed in the municipality. In 2021, 200,000 hectares of soybean were planted with a production of 684,000 tons. With regard to corn, 170,000 hectares, and production was 406,080 tons. Regarding these temporary crops, soybeans since 1985 have grown by 223%, from 63,208 hectares of planted area to 204,199 in 2022. It was also observed that in the last 5 years the municipality has always been among the 5 largest grain producers in the state, and this production each year has been reaching production records. With all this growth, the municipality has attracted dozens of industries focused on agribusiness, generating thousands of jobs in the municipality and also in the countryside, mainly in precision agriculture. The State Agency for Animal and Vegetal Sanitary Defense of Mato Grosso do Sul IAGRO in Dourados has 2798 active records of inspected rural properties in the municipality. Regarding the service to family farmers during the year 2022, the Agrarian Development and Rural Extension Agency AGRAER carried out 263 extension services to family farmers in the municipality. Therefore, Dourados is one of the most promising municipalities in the state of Mato Grosso do Sul in the agricultural sector, being in a prominent position in the production of grains, livestock, vegetable extraction and forestry. These activities, in addition to increasing the Gross Domestic Product (GDP) of the municipality, have contributed to local and regional development, providing the creation of jobs, improvement of infrastructure and education. Data from the Comex Stat (2022) linked to the Ministry of Economy, the municipality of Dourados - MS moved in 2021 US$ 514.984.916,00 of which about 99.7% of exports came from agricultural production. In view of all this development produced by the productive sector, which makes the municipality really occupy a prominent national position, the fact is that in 2023 an important Brazilian television network will present a soap opera in honor of the municipality, highlighting the local agribusiness, called “Terra Vermelha” (red earth) , a reference to the extremely fertile red earth prevalent in the municipality.
