Perkembangan dakwah di masa modern ini sangat pesat, mengalami banyak perubahan terutama dalam berstrategi. Komunikasi dan dakwah adalah dua bidang yang tidak bisa dipisahkan satu dengan lainnya. Keberhasilan gerakan dakwah sangat ditentukan oleh kompetensi seorang da’i. Membahas komunikasi dan dakwah kepada kaum milenial ini tentu sesuatu yang menarik, di mana diketahi bahawa kaum milenial adalah kaum yang senantiasa melibatkan kegiatan komunikasi dengan dunia cyber atau mereka lebih familiar terhadap media social dan apapun yang berbau teknologi untuk informasi. Penggunaan metode yang tepat guna dengan memanfatkan media social tentu harus memperhatikan banyak hal, diantaranya adalah Bahasa media dan jenis media social itu sendiri. Dengan demikian dakwah di kalangan milenial ini dapat mencapai hasil yang diharapkan.

Abstract Islam is a religion that teaches its people to always learn. Islam is also a religion that positions science in a noble position. As a sign of the primacy of science in Islam is the nature of science is one of the obligatory properties of Allah SWT. Therefore, all prophets and messengers are sent to teach knowledge to the people they are developing. Science is an important knowledge that people need to answer all the problems of life. By having knowledge, the prosperous world life as well as the happier hereafter will be realized. That's what science is for. Speaking of knowledge, in the Qur'an scattered the word science and all kinds of derivatives. Man, according to the Qur'an has the potential to gain knowledge and develop it with the permission of Allah. Therefore, scattered verses that commanded humans to take various ways to make that happen. Over and over again the Qur'an shows how high the position of the knowledgeable. According to the Qur'anic view - as the first revelation implies - science consists of two kinds. First, science acquired without human effort, is called 'ilm ladunni, as informed among others by the Qur'an. With science then all problems will be solved. The use of film as a medium of da'wah has proven to be effective in conveying the noble values ​​and messages of life. Film is a medium that can be accepted by all groups and the general public. This is in accordance with the mission of Islam to spread love to the whole world. The following research contains an analysis of texts through the media, using the semiotics of Charles Sanders Pierce's model. Semiotics is known as a model of social science that understands the world as a system of relationships with symbols as basic units, namely signs, objects, and interpretations. Semiotics is used here to understand the story of Bilal's journey as a sign with all its problems. The results of this research are expected to be material for further scientific development, especially in communication science which focuses on the use of social media as a medium with various facilities in preaching through films. It is hoped that this research can improve religious knowledge through all media by capturing da'wah messages through religious short films.

The development of da'wah in the present, known as the digital era, has been increasingly advanced in the use of da'wah media. The millennial generation, as a generation that is responsive to technology, does not miss using internet media to convey da'wah messages with its journalistic da'wah. One of the selected media is social media, this is because social media users are increasing every year in Indonesia. In the use of social media and internet networks, communication that is built in da'wah journalism certainly follows the journalistic code of ethics and remains consistent in spreading the function of da'wah journalism as prophetic journalism.
