Isolation of essential oil The isolation of essential oils was conducted using water and steam distillation method for 3 hours, and both samples were then stored in the refrigerator prior to further analysis.
Ipomoea aquatica is Convolvulaceae plant that is widely consumed in Southeast Asia as a vegetable. The plant contains various bioactive components, e.g. phenols and flavonoids. Water spinach and land spinach are two varieties of Ipomoea aquatica in Indonesia. Both extracts have been analyzed for their free radical scavenging activity using DPPH (2,2-diphenyl-1-picrylhidrazyl). Total phenol was measured using Folin Ciocalteu and the total flavonoid was measured using AlCl3. Both extracts also have been analyzed by TLC (Thin layer chromatography) using DPPH and AlCl3 spray reagents. Water spinach has higher antioxidant activity than land spinach and there was a correlation between antioxidant activity and total phenol/flavonoid content. Based on TLC results, it was supposed that the compound responsible for antioxidant activities in water spinach and land spinach was flavonoid.
Staphylococcus aureus merupakan bakteri yang dapat menyebabkan infeksi. Pengobatan infeksi biasanya menggunakan antibiotik, namun ditemukan masalah dalam penggunaan antibiotik salah satunya resistensi antibiotik. Binahong (Anredera cordifolia) dapat dijadikan sebagai alternative pengobatan antibakteri. Tujuan artikel review ini adalah untuk mereview ekstrak daun binahong yang dapat berpotensi menghambat pertumbuhan bakteri Staphylococcus aureus termasuk didalamnya menggali informasi mengenai konsentrasi yang memberikan zona hambat terhadap pertumbuhan Staphylococcus aureus dan golongan senyawa yang bertanggungjawab terhadap aktivitas antibakteri Staphylococcus aureus. Hasil uji antibakteri terhadap ekstrak daun binahong (Anredera cordifolia) dapat menghambat pertumbuhan bakteri Staphylococcus aureus dengan metode difusi pada konsentrasi 10%, 15%, 20% dengan diameter zona hambat 1,7 mm, 2,0 mm, 2,6 mm, sedangkan pada metode dilusi pada konsentrasi 25%. Pada fraksinasi daun binahong (Anredera cordifolia) dapat menghambat pertumbuhan Staphyloccus aureus (MIC 512 µg/ml). Hal ini dapat dikatakan bahwa ekstrak daun binahong (Anredera cordifolia) berpotensi dapat menghambat pertumbuhan bakteri Staphylococcus aureus. Golongan senyawa yang terkandung dalam ekstrak daun binahong (Anredera cordifolia) diduga adanya senyawa alkaloid, steroid, flavonoid dan fenol yang dapat menghambat pertumbuhan bakteri Staphylococcus aureus.
In this study, antioxidant activity and antocyanin derivatives study of extract of red katuk (Euphorbia cotinifolia L.) leaves was done. Antioxidant activity was done by DPPH (2,2-diphenyl 1-picrylhydrazyl) method using ultraviolet-visible spectrophotometer and thin layer chromatography. The result showed that methanol extract had antioxidant activity with IC50 value 33.13 μg/mL. Vitamin C as comparative substance had IC50 value was 5.24 μg/mL. From the acidified methanol extract, two anthocyanin derivatives have been isolated by preparative paper chromatography and characterized by ultraviolet visible spectrophotometry, which were supposed to be peonidin and cyanidin.Keywords: Euphorbia cotinifolia L, antioxidant, antocyaninAbstrakPada penelitian ini dilakukan pengujian mengenai aktifitas antioksidan dan turunan antosianin dari ekstrak daun katuk (merah Euphorbia cotinifolia L.). Hasil penellitian menunjukkan bahwa ekstrak metanol memiliki aktifitas antioksidan dengan nilai IC50 33,13 μg/mL. Vitamin C sebagai senyawa pembanding memiliki nilai IC50 5,24 μg/mL. Dari ekstrak metanol dalam suasana asam, terdapat 2 turunan antosianin yang berhasil diisolasi menggunakan kromatografi kertas preparatif dan dikarakterisasi dengan spektrofotometer UV-Vis, dimana kedua isolate tersebut diketahui sebagai peonidin dan sianidin.Kata kunci : Euphorbia cotinifolia L, antioksidan, antosianin
Consumer satisfaction is a condition where consumer feel satisfy or dissatisfy after his want and hope toward the available menu, price, facility and service are granted. Consumers will satisfy if his want or hope is granted while he will feel dissatisfy if his want and hope is not available. The purpose of this research is to find out the influence of taste, performance quality and price toward customer’s satisfaction at Uda Denai restaurant in Bengkulu city. The sample of this research is 140 customers of Uda Denai restaurant in Bengkulu city. Data are collected by using questionnaire and analysis method which used in this research is multiple linear regression, determination test and hypothesis test. The result shows that multiple linear regression shows that there is a positive influence from taste, service quality and price toward customers’satisfaction in Uda Denai restaurant in Bengkulu city. Because the regression shows positive value, Y = 10,794+ 0,178X1 + 0,397X2 + 0,137X3 + e. Taste has significance influence toward customers’ satisfaction. Because the significance score is 0,015 smaller than 0,05. Price has significance influence toward customers’ satisfaction toward customers at Uda Denai restaurant in Bengkulu City, because significance score is 0,000 smaller than 0,05. Price has the significance influence toward customers’ satisfaction at Uda Denai restaurant because the significance score is 0,028 smaller than 0,05. Taste, service quality and price influenced together toward customers’ satisfaction. It means that earlier hypothesis is proofed (Ha is accepted). It means there’s a significance influence between taste, service quality and price toward customers’ satisfaction together with determination coefficient from R square (0,454). It means that taste, service quality and price influence the customers’ satisfaction with score 45,4% while the other (100-45,4%=54,6%) is influenced by other factors which is not observed by this research.
