The viscosities of the inert gases and nitrogen have been determined over the temperature range 300–1600°K. The results suggest that earlier measurements are in error by as much as 6% at 1600°K. The extent to which the new results may lead to a revision of the functions commonly used to represent the intermolecular energy of simple molecules is discussed.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
