Azirines and [Mo2(CO)4(η‐C5H5)2] are the starting materials for the title compounds 1. These compounds can be alkylated on nitrogen, and a novel 1,3 hydrogen shift provides a route to azavinylidene complexes.
Reaction of [ M o ~( C O ) ~( T ~X ~H ~) ~] with MeC2Me forms, via competitive reaction paths, the dinuclear complexes [Mo*(p-MeC2Me)(CO)4(r15-CgH7)21 and [ M ~~{ C L -( ~, ~-~~-C ~M ~~) } ( C O ) ~( ~~-C ~H ~~( ~-C ~H ~) I ; the latter on heating decarbonylates to give [ M O ~{ ~-( U , ~-~~-C ~M ~~) } ( ~-C O ) ( ~~-C ~H ~) ~~, which reacts with MeC2Me to form the 'fly-over' complex [Mo2{ p-(a,y3 : q3,a-C6Me6)} (q5-C&)21.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
